Training Week Two Video: Self-awareness, Step Three and Step Four (part 1)
After 50+ years of researching human development and the spiritual realm, Dr. Gil Gockley wrote a 389-page Training Manual, Self-knowledge, Spiritual Knowledge, Living Knowledge. Welcome to Dr. Gil’s Love-centered Meeting House where love triumphs over fear and anger; and awareness, open-mindedness, inner goodness, and acceptance triumph over judging others. I am assuming that most of you have watched the four Introduction Videos; are members of a satellite meeting house; have purchased Training Manuals, Self-knowledge, Spiritual Knowledge, Living Knowledge; and are ready to begin the 60-day Spiritual Retreat!
During the next seven weeks, you will follow this FORMAT:
i) watch Dr. Gil’s weekly Training Video
ii) engage in a week-long SELF-STUDY by completing the weekly assignments (a few pages every day) and meditating daily.
iii) participate in DISCUSSION TIME when you meet with your satellite meeting house members for 1.0 to 2.5 hours. That’s it!
Training Video Two presents Step Three, learning how to appropriately deal with feelings. Option One is when individuals Flow with it – let the comment go, forgive the person, and move on. Option Two is to Face it – express a feeling (I’m feeling uncomfortable.); or express a feeling and a thought (When you called me stupid, I felt angry.); or express a feeling, a thought, and tell the person what you need (When you called me an idiot in front of my friends, I felt embarrassed. I need us to stop name-calling!). Step Four presents meditation and contemplation. When you meditate, you sit in silence and eventually connect with the Spirit within. Contemplation is having a conversation with your inner Self in the presence of God.
